Happy 2026!
I don’t care if it’s too late to wish people a Happy New Year, I’m going to do it anyway (and this REALLY will be the last time).
It also feels like an apt moment to start rewriting my blog, which I neglected for an entire year. While 2025 had its highs and lows, one clear positive was hitting the Cancer Research UK target I’d set. I’m also already well on the way to the halfway point of the total amount I aim to donate to CRUK within the first five years of my business (every cloud).
There’s no pretending that last year was incredibly tough. It was challenging both financially and mentally. Being less busy than usual, low market confidence, ongoing instability and a job-driven market all contributed to moments where I genuinely questioned whether I’d made a terrible mistake, whether I’d set up The Right One at the wrong time.
A huge thank you to everyone who stuck with me throughout the year. Your support meant I was able to continue being there for people who needed advice, guidance, or reassurance during their search, or simply needed to know they weren’t alone in finding the job market a nightmare.
Fast forward to now, and I’m cautiously optimistic about the year ahead. Despite ongoing challenges, businesses are moving forward with hiring, focusing on growth and unlocking new opportunities. For agencies in particular, I expect to see increased demand for BD and Growth roles, alongside strengthened activation teams as they look for a competitive edge.
I’m genuinely happy to be busy again, working with some incredible clients, and even happier to see candidates who struggled last year finally securing roles.
Here’s hoping for a more positive 2026.
